Volunteer with The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum
Volunteer With Us
The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is supported by a friendly community of volunteers who help bring the museum and its collections to life.
There are lots of ways to get involved, whether you have a particular interest in military history or simply want to meet people, learn something new and support your local museum.
Volunteering at the museum is flexible and there is no need to be a military history expert. We can find something that suits your interests, skills and the amount of time you have available.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering at Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is a great way to:
Meet new people and become part of the museum community
Learn more about Gloucestershire's military history and our collections
Develop new skills and gain valuable experience
Share your own knowledge, interests and experience
Support the museum and help us welcome and inspire visitors
Do something rewarding with your spare time
There are plenty of different ways to help, from supporting visitors and events to helping behind the scenes. We also welcome people who simply have an interest in the museum and would like to get involved.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
Looking for somewhere to complete your volunteering hours for your Duke of Edinburgh's Award?
The museum can provide opportunities for young people completing their Duke of Edinburgh's Award volunteering section.
It's a great way to gain experience in a museum environment, meet new people and contribute to the work we do. Depending on your interests and the museum's current needs, there may be opportunities to help with visitors, events, activities or other aspects of museum life.
