Getting Here
The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is located in Gloucester’s historic docks, making it easy to reach by car, train, bus or bicycle.
The museum is located within Gloucester Docks, which is primarily pedestrianised. There is no general visitor parking directly outside the museum, but several public car parks are within easy walking distance.
North Warehouse Car Park
The Docks, Gloucester, GL1 2FB

Parking charges currently apply from 7am–6pm. Charges are £2.50 for up to 2 hours, £4.80 for up to 4 hours and £8.40 all day Monday–Saturday. Sunday parking is £1.50 for up to 1 hour or £2.20 all day.

Blue Badge parking
Blue Badge holders can park free of charge for up to 3 hours in Gloucester City Council car parks. Your Blue Badge must be displayed correctly and you must set the time clock to your time of arrival. If you need to park for longer than 3 hours, normal parking charges apply.
Please note that Gloucester Docks is primarily pedestrianised, so visitors should use the designated public car parks rather than attempting to park within the Docks estate.
By Car
By Train
Gloucester Railway Station is approximately 1 mile from Gloucester Docks, around a 15–20 minute walk.
The route takes you through Gloucester city centre and towards the historic docks. The city centre route is largely flat, although some areas around the historic docks may have uneven surfaces.
Alternatively, you can take a local bus from Station Road to The Docks, or take a taxi from outside the station. The bus journey takes approximately 5–10 minutes, while a taxi takes around 5 minutes, depending on traffic.
There are regular local bus services serving The Docks and the surrounding area.
Bus services including 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 65 serve stops around The Docks, with services operated by Stagecoach West. The nearest stops include The Docks and The Warehouse.
If you're travelling from Gloucester Railway Station, services from Station Road can take you directly towards The Docks.
We recommend checking the latest bus times before travelling, as routes and timetables can change.
By Bus
Gloucester Docks is easily accessible by bicycle and the surrounding area provides a number of cycle parking facilities.
If you're cycling to the museum, please use designated cycle parking and take care when travelling through the pedestrianised areas of Gloucester Docks.
