Museum Events Assistant (Volunteer)
Casual hours dependent on availability (majority of events are through half-terms and School holidays)
Casual Contract (no fixed hours)
The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is located in Gloucester’s Historic Docks, is one of the top tourist attractions in the City, and is at an exciting point in its development.
The museum is in need of a Volunteer Events Assistant to support the Events Manager in the preparation and delivery of a number of small to large-scale museum events throughout the year. These can range from half-term children’s activities (such as object handling workshops or crafts), to running outdoor stalls on large event days (such as Gloucester Goes Retro, or Gloucester Day).
The successful candidate will be energetic, organised, reliable, and approachable. Good communication skills are a must, the ability to work on their own initiative and to work well with the existing Museum team.
This is a casual position and the working hours will therefore be flexible around the availability of the successful candidate, but would ideally be at least 3 or 4 hours per week or fortnight.
